10/24 Convening on High Stakes Testing: Envisioning Alternatives & Planning Next Steps

The convening is designed to create partnerships in support of replacing high stakes testing with more meaningful forms of assessment and accountability.

Educators, parents, students, researchers, and other key stakeholders will work to develop action plans in the following four areas:

1) Organizing/mobilizing against high stakes testing
2) Developing authentic and alternative assessments for students
3) Developing genuine accountability for teachers and schools that do not rely on test scores, and, developing accountability for the SRC
4) Advocating for legislation that promotes quality education for all students.

Directions to Temple University’s Kiva Auditorium

From Points South of Philadelphia via I-95:
Take I-95 North to Exit 17 (Central Philadelphia/I-676). Note: this is a LEFT lane exit. Follow 676 West to Broad Street Exit. Exit to the left lane and turn left on Vine Street. Stay in the left lane for one block to Broad Street and turn left. Proceed two miles to Cecil B. Moore Avenue. Turn right and then right again in one-half block onto Park Avenue. The Visitor’s Parking lot entrance is on Park Avenue.

The Visitor’s Parking is on the corner of Cecil B. Moore Avenue and Broad Street. The entrance is on Park Avenue, east of Broad Street and south of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. After you park your car you will cross Cecil B. Moore Avenue and enter Ritter Annex at the disability entrance. Inside you will see Kiva Auditorium on your left.
